In short: LoveThread is a private couples app. Your data stays between you, your partner, and Apple's iCloud. We don't track you, sell your data, or share it with anyone else.
When you use LoveThread, you may provide:
Location Data — We don't track your real-time location
Analytics Trackers — No third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook, etc.)
Advertising IDs — No ad tracking or profiling
Contact Lists — We never access your contacts
Browsing History — We don't track what you do outside the app
Your information is used solely to provide LoveThread's core functionality:
We do not sell your data to third parties, use your data for advertising, share your content with anyone except your paired partner, or read your messages for any purpose.
LoveThread uses Apple CloudKit to sync your data. Your data is stored on Apple's iCloud servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you and your paired partner can access shared content. Deleting the app or your iCloud account removes your data.
Some data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData, including cached messages for offline viewing, profile preferences, ritual configurations, and ThreadBook entries. This local data is protected by your device's built-in encryption and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
LoveThread does not use any third-party servers. All data flows through your device, Apple's iCloud (if signed in), and your partner's device. That's it — no intermediaries.
When you pair with a partner in LoveThread, your messages, ritual responses, profile information (name, photo), and check-in data (if enabled) are visible to your partner on all their devices where they're signed into iCloud.
By using iCloud, your data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud Terms of Service.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third parties for their marketing purposes.
You can access all your data within the LoveThread app — view all messages, review ThreadBook entries, see ritual history, and check profile settings.
You can export your data via ThreadBook Export (generate a PDF of your saved memories in Settings) or by screenshotting any message for personal records.
You have full control to delete your data. Swipe to delete individual messages, remove ThreadBook entries, or clear ritual history. You can also go to Settings → Delete All Data to remove all local and synced content. Deleting the app removes local data, and signing out of iCloud removes synced data from Apple's servers.
Settings → Disconnect from Partner removes the pairing while keeping your saved memories.
Active data is retained as long as you use the app and are signed into iCloud. Deleted data is removed immediately but may persist in iCloud backups for up to 30 days. Disconnecting from a partner doesn't delete shared messages — they remain in your ThreadBook. Deleting all data via Settings removes everything permanently.
LoveThread uses only the following Apple frameworks — no third-party services:
No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.
LoveThread is designed for couples in romantic relationships and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app carries a 17+ age rating in the App Store.
We take security seriously. Data in transit uses TLS encryption. Data at rest is encrypted by Apple CloudKit. We use Apple ID authentication — no password storage on our end. Your data is additionally protected by your device passcode and biometrics.
No system is 100% secure. We recommend keeping your device updated, using a strong passcode, and enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID.
LoveThread is available worldwide. Your data is stored in Apple's iCloud, which may store data in servers located in various countries based on your Apple ID region.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA): We comply with GDPR. You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data. You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with a new "Last Updated" date. We'll notify you via in-app notification and in app update release notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
